2019 'Imi Na'auao "The Search for Knowledge"

The design on this one is meant to shoe the wayfarers coming toward Hawi and the east side of the island, the peaks you see are Kohala and Mauna Kea with smoke billowing up from Kilauea. The markings are meant to show someone's journey into the dojo. The frigate birds show the searching for a place to belong, the spearheads show the assumption that they are becoming warriors, but as time goes along that gives way to community and leadership and eventually builds to a state of quiet. Notice though that the quiet spirals directly into Halema'uma'u.
